My son is deploying on the 27th for afghan, he is 21, and my youngest son. He is a field MP, and I'm very scared because he will be in the convoys. I have never known anyone who has been in a war. I don't know what to expect, and I am scared that something bad will happen to him

I can understand why you are scared. I come from a family of lots of military men. My dad was in Vietnam and 2 of my cousins have been to Afghanistan and Iraq. Just recently my co workers son was deployed to Afghanistan. Nothing is going to make you not worry, your his mom. Not sure how your faith is. I'm not very religious of spiritual but I do feel there is a higher power out there looking after us. I will keep your son in my thoughts and prayers.
